Subbasin Water Resource Management Program
The Subbasin Water Resource Management Program is funded by the Kansas State Water Plan and implemented by the Kansas Department of Agriculture's Division of Water Resources. It is designed to take a proactive approach to water resource issues in subbasins identified in the Kansas State Water Plan. Project teams of environmental scientists work to find solutions to groundwater decline and streamflow depletion in identified subbasins. The program is intended to be holistic in nature so that all water issues are addressed. As a result, long-term management strategies are developed in a cooperative effort with federal, state and local agencies, as well as private interest groups and the public.
